First Post – always the toughest

First post are always the hardest I’m finding.  You get all geared up to write something meaningful; something folks will read.  I’m not into posting the benign or using a quick copy-paste as a way out of putting thought into subject matter.  This blog has months of thought behind it as it also took months of thought before writing the book.  Whatever tidbits and guidance I can offer to other digital media / marketing professionals will be up here.  You may find me standing on a soapbox (or two or three) but after 15 years of working in this space, it stands to reason one can get very “opinion-ated” with things they see and hear about in today’s ever-changing new media environment.

As I wrote in the book, I don’t expect “everyone” to agree with me.  But if the thoughts that lie within can generate discussion and banter, in my mind the purpose has been served.  The more we debate, discuss, test, trial, share, and research, the better we will be about assessing new advertising channels with our consumers.  Let’s face it, our digital world is changing faster than ever.  And with the uprising of social media truly being a catalyst for traditional marketers to jump in our world, we are going to see a ton of innovation in years to come.

Enjoy!
